2024/Düsseldorf/Feedback

From IndieWeb

2024/Düsseldorf/Feedback is a page for organizers and participants of IndieWebCamp Düsseldorf 2024 to collect thoughts on what went well and what could have gone better, and organizer notes for what they would have done differently in hindsight, in the interest of providing helpful advice to future organizers.

Organizer notes

  • Tantek Çelik
    • more stickers (IndieWebCamp, microformats) to hand out both at IndieWebCamp and the adjacent btconf
      • perhaps as part of a "recommended IWC kit"
    • either bring sticky notes (for day 1 breakouts grid), or pick some up locally before the event at a nearby store
    • draft a communication plan for emails to send to ticketholders before the event, before day 2, and after the event with calls to action
    • organize email templates for each email, in a place that's easily (re)discoverable and re-usable, with clear instructions on which portions to update and provide event-specific information
    • ...
  • David Shanske
    • While we found some power, there was a moment at the library when I was uncertian the room had power strips to plug in. We should ask for an assessment of the room, including power options as any projectors, screens, etc and be prepared to bring power strips...which I have to events as needed.
    • Brought a slower backup streaming system we didn't end up needing for a second room. May switch back to the Chromebook as worked better for this function.
    • Budget projector worked well, but look into budget travel screen to project onto.
  • Add yourself here… (see this for more details)
